Southern Boat Ramps is a free directory of boat ramps built from public government data. We try to collect as little as possible. This page explains what happens when you use the site.

No accounts, no ads, no tracking cookies

You don't need an account. The site does not show ads and does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If we ever add ads, we will update this policy first and explain what changes.

Visit statistics

We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. If it is on, a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com loads with each page. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not build a profile of you. Cloudflare, our host, also processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to serve and protect the site; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Reviews, feedback and reports

If you send a review, feedback or "report this review," we store only what you type: the rating and comment (or feedback text, or report reason), an optional first name, the ramp or page it is about, and the time. We do not ask for email. Reviews are held for moderation and published only after approval; your first name, if given, is shown with an approved review.

To limit spam, our server keeps a one-way, salted hash of your IP address. Hashes older than 24 hours are deleted the next time anyone submits a form. We never store your IP address itself.

Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are a person. Pages with a review form load Turnstile when the page opens, so Cloudflare sees that visit. Turnstile loads from Cloudflare and processes data such as your browser and IP address for that check, under Cloudflare's policy.

Weather, water and maps

Some features load data directly from your browser to public services, which will see your IP address like any website you visit:

• Weather forecasts from the National Weather Service (api.weather.gov).
• Water gauge readings from the U.S. Geological Survey.
• Map tiles from OpenFreeMap. The map software (MapLibre) is served from our own site.

Aerial photos are hosted on our own site.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
